The name says it all! This luminescent creature's real name is "Ostracod" but most people call it the firefly of the sea ( I would prefer it if you call it by it's nickname becuase there are 65,000 species of ostracod ). This certain species lives in the sea of japan ( yum! japanese seafood tonight!).

Matthew, I saw fireflies in our backyard following a 2 inch rain. Wonder if the 'firefly of the sea' paid us a visit... :-)
The "firefly of the sea" is a couple millimeters long!
I would much rather eat the catfish pictured below. I loove catfish. ¿don't you?
