This rare overgrown chipmunk is one you won`t/will find in a mountain!
O.K. this guy is ............. THE MARMOT!
Marmots are endothermic ( meaning they also need to hibernate ).
Also, they do NOT live in trees. There is also the Olympic marmot ( Above ), Hoary marmot,
Bobak marmot, and much more. I saw these great animals while on a vacation to colarado.

Matthew - how close did you get to a marmot? Do they bite? Which Marmot did you see in Colorado? I think Grandma and I used to see these on Mount Timpanogos near Provo, Utah when we hiked up to the top of the mountain. I guess they like to stay cool. Me too.
